克莱普顿（Eric Clapton, 1945~），英国的吉他手、歌手和作曲家，在西洋乐坛素有"吉他之神"美誉。1991年3月， 他四岁大的儿子康诺（Conor）在纽约从53层高的公寓意外坠楼而死，克莱普顿悲痛欲绝，在1992年的一场演唱会 唱出这首“泪洒天堂”（Tears in Heaven），思子之情感动所有歌迷。演唱会的实况录音随后发行专辑后，在告示牌专辑榜上流连了两年多，直到2004年，克莱普顿才走出丧子之痛，不再演唱这首曲子。
